Online Application For Public Housing Assistance

Please read all the information below before beginning the online registration process.

The Worcester Housing Authority (WHA) provides affordable housing to low-income families, senior citizens, veterans and individuals with disabilities. WHA’s portfolio consists of the State & Federal Leased Housing Programs (Section 8 / MRVP) and State & Federal Public Housing.

  1. General Information

Housing assistance programs are made available to low-income people through federal and state funds that are used to subsidize a portion of the rent, whether they live in a WHA-owned unit or a unit in the private market.

A participant in a Rental Assistance Payment Program pays rent based on their income. Usually, but not always, their rent is about 30% of their monthly income. WHA pays the rest of the rent, providing a “subsidy”.
